Zack Snyder has called his cast ‘amazing’ as he walked the red carpet in London earlier this week.
Snyder was joined at the European premiere by leading men Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, who are set to go head to head as Superman and Batman.
Dawn of Justice sees us introduced to Batman for the first time since The Dark Knight Rises and Snyder says they worked hard on delivering a new version of a character that we all know so well.
Speaking on the red carpet, the filmmaker said: “It was a big deal when we were talked about it and, the whole way in, I knew that we going to reboot Batman and figure out who this new Batman was going to be. Weirdly we settled on – not weirdly – on an older Batman and a Batman that had been around for twenty years.”
Snyder has brought together an impressive cast as Cavill and Affleck are joined by Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne and he had nothing but praise for his actors.
“Ben did an amazing job. And with Henry returning, he just is Superman to me. The two of them were amazing. I had to assemble this amazing team of actors. I got so lucky and they were amazing. They made me better everyday, so it was good to have them.”
Dawn of Justice is the first time that we have seen Snyder in the director’s chair since the success of Man of Steel back in 2013. And he is set to stick with the comic book genre as he is will be at the helm of the upcoming Justice League film.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is out now.
