The couple stepped out for a romantic dinner at an Italian restaurant in Gold Coast, Australia on Saturday, escorted by around eight security guards.
Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston might attempt for a low-key dinner date, but their Saturday (July 9) outing couldn’t go unnoticed as they were reportedly joined by around eight security guards. The couple had the small army to protect them while they were out to grab some meal at Gemelli Italian restaurant in Gold Coast, Australia.
They allegedly arrived in two cars, an Audi and Range Rover, even though the hotel they were staying was just 200 meters down the road. Around 50 people gathered to catch a glimpse of the pair, who were walking hand-in-hand while leaving the eatery.
“They had dinner at Gemelli Italian restaurant. Taylor told the staff that Italian is her favorite food and she was very excited to try the food,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Taylor and Tom walked in hand-in-hand and left the same way. They spent several hours at dinner before returning to their hotel in a chauffered car.”
Another source tells Us Weekly, “Tom looked smitten with her as they talked softly and she giggled a lot. … They were beaming as they gave warm smiles to onlookers, like any new couple who just can’t hide their feelings for each other.” An onlooker adds of Taylor, “She was nice and said ‘hi’ to fans as she left, but kept her head bowed and she didn’t stop for any selfies.”
Earlier on Saturday, Tom refused to answer questions about his girlfriend. He was leaving his hotel solo for a jog when a reporter asked him, “How is Taylor enjoying the Gold Coast?” The British actor chuckled a little bit before politely telling the reporter, “I’m not going to answer that, if that’s alright.”
Taylor is believed to be accompanying Tom who is filming “Thor: Ragnarok” Down Under.
