Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan temporarily locked down

A part of the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan, one of the biggest in America and the busiest in the world – was locked down temporarily because of thousands of people travelling home for Thanksgiving.

The bus terminal just metres from New York City’s iconic Times Square was evacuated during rush hour after the discovery of a suspect package.

An ISIS propaganda video threatening an attack on New York was released just last week – and contained images of nearby Times Square.

Eyewitnesses spoke of “complete chaos” as police helicopters hovered overhead as law enforcement tried to clear the area.
