THE Prime Minister has been accused of “distancing himself” from Christmas following the release of his annual festive card.
It features a smiling Mr Cameron and his wife Samantha as they returned to Downing Street following this year’s General Election.
The decidedly summery image makes no mention of Christmas or even winter with Mrs Cameron wearing a blue and black patterned dress with elbow-length sleeves and the Prime Minister in a dark blue suit and purple tie.
Despite Mr Cameron in the past saying he is “evangelical” about his Christian faith the churchgoer fails to even reference Christ in his Christmas card.
No Christmas message will be featured on the front of the card, and it’s unclear whether the Camerons will wish people a Merry Christmas or Seasons Greetings inside.
The wording on the back simply says: “David and Samantha Cameron return to 10 Downing Street, following the 2015 General Election. Friday, 8 May 2015.”
