ManU clinch FA title beating Palace 2-1

The 10-men Manchester United clinched the FA Cup title for the 12th time riding on the Jesse Lingard’s extra-time thunderbolt for a 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace in the final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Coming from behind, Manchester Utd sealed the title to equalise the record of the most title winners in the list with Arsenal. Manchester Utd first tasted the title in 1909 and the last in 2004.

The final was locked in 1-1 in the stipulated 90 minutes. After the goalless first half of extra time, Lingard sealed the win in the 5th minute of the 2nd half by a volley, 2-1.

After the barren first half, with Jason Puncheon broke the dead lock in the 78 minutes for Crystal Palace, 1-0.

Juan Mata leveled the margin in the 81st minute for Man Man Utd and kept the match alive, 1-1.

Man Utd central defender Chris Smalling got marching order having 2nd yellow card in the 16th minute of extra period.
