The blonde beauty who plays Elizabeth Bennet in ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ looks stunning in a floor-length gown at the movie premiere in Los Angeles.
Lily James, Matt Smith, Bella Heathcote, Douglas Booth and other fellow actors stepped out for the premiere of “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” in Los Angeles on Thursday, January 21. The lead actress Lily, of course, gained the most attention as she became the belle of the ball.
Wearing a sheer floor-sweeping dress featuring floral prints, Lily flaunted her curvaceous figure. The 26-year-old actress parted her wavy dark blonde hair sideways and put red lipstick to complete her look. Her gorgeous appearance in the sleeveless gown was different from her role as Elizabeth Bennet, a tough heroine, in the movie.
Her co-star and boyfriend Matt, meanwhile, looked handsome in a dark blue suit and tie. He completed his dapper look with brown shoes. On the other hand, Bella, who plays Lily’s sister in the movie, looked pretty in a strapless black dress. Douglas who looked handsome in a black suit was all smiles on the red carpet as he struck a pose with Lily.
The movie which is helmed by director Burr Steers previously experienced delay in the production. Of the decision to continue the project, producer Allison Shearmur told The Hollywood Reporter, “What made me stick with it was the love story, the metaphor of the zombies as the outdated values and the obstacles that became physical between Elizabeth and Darcy. Their pride and prejudice kept them apart, but now you got this other obstacle that allows us to underscore their pride and prejudice and give it life and death stakes.”
A new sneak-peek of the movie shows the Bennet sisters preparing firearms and other weapons to fight against zombies which will attack their hometown. It also shows them skillfully using the weapons during some fight scenes against the undead creatures.
Adapted from Grahame-Smith’s 2009 novel of the same title, “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” focuses on romance between lovers from different social classes in 19th century. However, they have to face a new challenge, the attack of zombies. Suki Waterhouse, Jack Huston, Lena Headey, Charles Dance and Emma Greenwell also join the cast of the movie. It will hit U.S. theaters on February 2.
