‘Killer’ wife kept claiming husband’s pension

A wife suspected of murdering her husband and hiding his body for 18 years claimed thousands of pounds of his pension payments, it has emerged.

Leigh Anne Sabine, 74, had her husband John’s state benefits paid into their joint account after he vanished in 1997 and continued to put his name on the electoral register, despite telling neighbours that he had left her.

Mrs Sabine died from brain cancer in October.
