The Australia-born rapper plays ‘Team’ off the upcoming ‘Digital Distortion’ as well as the hits ‘Fancy’ and ‘Black Widow’ off 2014’s ‘The New Classic’ on the morning show.
Iggy Azalea took over “Good Morning America” on Friday, June 10. Taking part on the morning show’s summer concert series, the Australian raptress performed some of her hits and at one point teased her upcoming album, “Digital Distortion”.
Iggy kicked off her set with an energetic performance of her latest single “Team”. Rocking a sheer black top paired with high-waisted shorts, a jacket and a pair of thigh-high boots, she rapped her verse alongside a DJ and some backing dancers who were all clad in white.
She also revisited her 2014 set “The New Classic” as she played “Black Widow” sans Rita Ora and the No. 1 smash “Fancy” without Charli XCX. In between songs, she talked a little bit about her anticipated sophomore album with host Michael Strahan, saying, “It’s still super energetic and fun but it’s a bit more aggressive and a little bit darker and a little bit more grown up, like me.”
Iggy, who turned 26 on Tuesday, June 7, also discussed her birthday celebration in Mexico. “I took all my girlfriends and we went to Cabo and hung out and just did our girl thing. It was cool. It was fun,” she shared as the screen showed some Instagram pictures of her flaunting her bikini body on a yacht.
Iggy’s “Digital Distortion” still has no official release date, but it’s expected to arrive later this year.
