AN ISLAMIC State (ISIS) leader who apparently planned the Paris massacre alongside evil mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud has been blown to pieces in an airstrike over Syria, US officials confirmed today.
Pentagon officials said that 10 jihadi leaders have been wiped out in drone attacks this month as America ratchets up its aerial bombardment of the Islamist hate group.
Amongst those blown to pieces was Charaffe al Mouadan, who was blasted by a rocket strike on Christmas Eve. Intelligence sources said reconnaissance indicated he was actively involved in the planning of future atrocities against the West.
US intelligence also believe he had a direct link to evil Abaaoud, who masterminded the Paris gun and bomb attacks which left 130 innocent civilians dead before himself being killed in a shootout with French police.
Army Colonel Steve Warren told reporters today that American drones are actively targeting the terror groups leaders in a bid to “sever the head of the snake”.
He said: “We will hunt ISIL leaders working to inspire attacks against U.S. and our allies. We are striking at the head of the snake. We haven’t severed the head of the snake, and it’s still got fangs.”
In a report about 27-year-old al Mouadan from November newspaper Le Parisien said he was a French national of Moroccan descent who was friends with Bataclan theatre attacker Samy Amimour. The pair allegedly spoke of their dream to lead a jihadi army against Afghanistan and Yemen to capture the countries for ISIS.
The newspaper quoted survivors of the bloody massacre saying they overheard one terrorist asking another if he had phoned “Souleymane” – an alias of Mouadan – leading French officials to believe he had played a key part in planning the atrocity.
The jihadi mastermind is believed to have fled his French hometown of Drancy, a northeastern suburb of Paris, and headed to Syria in August 2013 despite apparently being on a French police watchlist.
He is the latest in a long line of Western jihadis who have been killed in drone attacks over Syria and Iraq over the last few months.
Last month infamous British executioner Jihadi John was blown to smithereens by an American rocket as he got into his car just outside ISIS’ main headquarters in its de facto capital Raqqa.
Jihadi John, real name Mohammed Emwazi, was on a Government kill list which also includes his widow – former punk rocker Sally Jones – and failed Morrisons security guard Omar Hussain from High Wycombe.
Meanwhile in August felliow British jihadi and key ISIS hacker Junaid Hussain, originally from Birmingham, was also killed in Syria after a drone targeted his car at a petrol station.
The evil jihadi group’s leader in Libya, Abu Nabil, was also blown to pieces by the US airforce in the same month.
Britain extended its campaign of airstrikes against ISIS, also known as Daesh, to Syria at the start of the month following a contentious vote in the House of Commons.
