Bomb squad called in as plane makes EMERGENCY LANDING following TERROR THREAT onboard

A PASSENGER plane was forced to make an
emergency landing after the pilot revealed
there was a terror threat on board.

Shockwaves were sent round the packed plane
heading from Athens to Madrid as the
terrifying threat forced the crew to land in

The aircraft was set to land at the Adolfo
Suarez Madrid-Barajas in Madrid.

But as the plane flew over the Mediterranean
sea the pilot desperately scrambled an urgent
alert to air traffic controllers requesting
for a diversion to the Mallorca due to the
terrorist threat.

He revealed to horrified passengers he had
“detected some sort of incident” or concern
regarding one of the people on board.

A bomb unit was sent to sweep the aircraft as
passengers were frisked and bags searched for

The reason behind the chilling alert has yet
to be revealed by the flight crew.

An official statement from Aegean Airlines
issued this afternoon said: “Aegen was
notified by the Athens International Airport,
today, Sunday 10 January, for additional
security check to a passenger on the
scheduled Aegen flight A3 688 from Athens to

“Considering this information, Aegen has
instructed the commander of the flight to
land on the nearest airport.

“The aircraft has landed on the Palma de
Mallorca Airport, where all the additional
security checks were conducted for the
aircraft and the passengers, as provided by

“The security checks revealed no issues and
the aircraft departed from Mallorca to its
final destination Madrid.”

A spokesman for the Civil Guard confirmed it
had been a false alarm and no explosives had
been found.
