A body has been found by police searching for a missing man from south London.
Scotland Yard said officers pulled a body from the River Thames at Blyth’s Wharf in east London on Christmas Day.
It came two weeks after Michael Wright, 47, disappeared from his home in Lewisham.
He was last seen at Whitehall at the junction with Parliament Square at about 4am on Friday, December 11.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Mr Wright’s next-of-kin have been informed of this development.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place. At this early stage the death is not thought to be suspicious.
“A post mortem will be scheduled in due course.”
