Rumana Ahmed bagged four wickets to restrict Zimbabwe to only 58 runs as Bangladesh won the first semifinal of the World T20 Qualifiers in Bangkok on Thursday.
The win sends Bangladesh to next year’s main event to be held in India.
Winning the toss, Zimbabwe invited Bangladesh to bat first. The Bangladesh women’s batting failed to shine yet again, as they could only manage 89 with only Fargana Hoque (43) and Sharmin Akhter (22) managing double figures.
However, the bowlers did an excellent job as the African nation were all out for 58.
Fahima Khatun and Shaila Sharmin both bagged two wickets to help Rumana destroy the opponent batting line up.
Bangladesh will play the winners of Ireland and Scotland in the Saturday’s Trophy final.
