Grappling with the emptiness of his life, a Hollywood successful screenwriter Rick (Bale) seeks distraction by living a hard-partying life.
A new trailer for Terrence Malick’s “Knight of Cups” has arrived. Starring Christian Bale, the movie follows an uninspired screenwriter who seeks distraction by living a life full of party and extravagance, reports aceshowbiz
The trailer looks much the same with the first one, but the duration is a little longer. Supported by Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman, the movie gives a look at Hollywood hedonism that often becomes a medium to keep away from sorrow. Like other Malick’s movies, “Knight of Cups” brings in beautiful settings, good music and glimpses of beauty, joy and pain.
Bale stars as an uninspired screenwriter, Rick, who is addicted to success but simultaneously despairing at the emptiness of his life. With the death of his brother Billy hanging over him like a shadow and his surviving brother down on his luck, Rick seeks distraction in the company of women. While living a hard-partying life, each woman, each man he’s met has served him in some way as a guide, a messenger.
The movie has a star-studded cast which also includes Brian Dennehy, Joel Kinnaman, Wes Bentley, Antonio Banderas, Teresa Palmer and Freida Pinto. The drama will be released in theaters across the nation on March 4, 2016. “Knight of Cups” premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year and earned mixed reviews.
