Terrorists have stormed a hotel in Mali and taken 170 people hostage.
ihadists armed with guns and grenades are also reported to have have killed nine people in the attack, although this is yet to be confirmed.
The attack is taking place at a Radison Blu hotel, popular with Air France crew, in the Malian capital of Bamako.
Explosions and gunfire have been heard at the resort and there are reports of two jihadis firing shots in the corridors.
They are said to have shouted out “God is great in Arabic”.
There are 140 guests and 30 employees at the hotel.
A security source said: “It’s all happening on the seventh floor, jihadists are firing in the corridor.”
It has been reported some of the hostages have been allowed out if they can recite verses from the Koran.
The Rezidor Hotel Group said in a statement: “As per our information, two persons have locked in 140 guests and 30 employees.
